Biofuels Baloney

Biofuels Baloney

Biofuels BaloneyBurning forests to generate electricity is probably the worst green energy stupidity. It destroys forests, creates its own pollutants, is less efficient than coal to harvest, handle and burn and has a low heat value. If all factors are counted, it will take decades of forest regrowth to match the CO2 emissions of burning high-energy coal.

Most coal-fired power stations are built on a coal field with reserves to last the life of the power station. The coal is mined efficiently, the fuel is of known quality and sizing and efficient repetitive methods are used to extract and prepare the coal and convey it continuously into the power station.

Time magazine and ‘sinking’ Pacific nations

Time magazine and ‘sinking’ Pacific nations

Time magazine and 'sinking' Pacific nationsTime magazine is a strong proponent of the global warming cause. Three recent examples include their reports on ‘sinking islands’ 1, species extinctions 2, and climate change 3. Here let’s look at what they say about ‘sinking islands.’

Constant turbulence has imperiled industry and choked off the food supply in Fiji; other island nations like Tuvalu, Kiribati and the Marshall Islands could face even worse in the coming century, scientists say, with sea level rise threatening to wipe them off the map entirely.

Pocahontas’ Presidential Run Should be Over

Pocahontas’ Presidential Run Should be Over

Pocahontas' Presidential Run Should be OverWhile driving on a beautiful day in West Virginia, I heard this news reported over my car radio. Democrat presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren said Michael Brown was “murdered” by a “white” policeman in Ferguson Mo. I became filled with anger. I thought, “This wicked woman’s presidential run should be over.” Everyone knows Brown was shot while assaulting a police officer in his patrol car while Brown tried to take the officer’s gun.

What Happened to Jeffrey Epstein?

What Happened to Jeffrey Epstein?

What Happened to Jeffrey Epstein?New York City’s Civic Center is a maze of courts, prisons, and offices that begins where Chinatown ends; past relics like a 17th century Jewish cemetery and an 1819 seaman’s church. Park Row is barricaded and blocked off by the brutalist infrastructure of One Police Plaza (which contains the remnants of a British prison used to house American prisoners during the Revolutionary War). Surrounding it are massive federal courthouses in front of whose facades the various important malefactors you see on the evening news are photographed, followed by the neoclassical facade of the New York County Supreme Court.

Murder or Suicide? High Stakes, Huge Challenges in Epstein Investigation

Murder or Suicide? High Stakes, Huge Challenges in Epstein Investigation

The death of financier and alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein in a high-security federal jail cell in Manhattan has lit up social media with conspiracy theories. Was it murder?  Suicide? The wealthy Epstein for decades cultivated the rich and powerful: heads of state, barons of commerce, royalty. He skated on earlier Florida sex charges, a controversy that eventually brought down Labor Secretary Alex Acosta. According to conspiracy theories cresting on the internet, Epstein’s recent federal indictment on sex trafficking charges threatened too many prominent people—so somebody, somehow, bumped him off.

Anti-Semitism Re-defined

Anti-Semitism Re-defined

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. State Department recently revised its definition of anti-Semitism to include “Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.”

The State Department has used a working definition of anti-Semitism since 2010.  On May 26, 2016, the 31 member states of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, of which the United States is a member, adopted a non-legally binding “working definition” of anti-Semitism at its plenary in Bucharest. This definition is consistent with and builds upon the information contained in the 2010 State Department definition.

Enforce rules against false and misleading organic claims

Enforce rules against false and misleading organic claimsA couple years ago, the US Food and Drug Administration sent a “Warning Letter” to Nashoba Brook Bakery, advising its owners that listing “love” as an ingredient in their granola violated the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. The product was “misbranded,” because “love” is “not a common or usual name of an ingredient,” FDA said. Such deceptive labeling practices could mislead consumers and are not allowed.
